Final Floe, 2018
105 x 79cm
Oil and acrylic on canvas
Signifying the last piece of ice melting in our oceans, the final floe (sheet of ice) crashes into a contaminated ocean, surrounded by scrubbed and bleached imprints. As a species we are floundering around, finding difficulty in repairing the damage and mistakes made on our planet.
'Final Floe' reveals the scars and marks of manipulation, symbolizing humanities impact on nature, the coral bleaching, rising temperatures, flooding and water contamination. This work asks the question 'When is too late?'
