Portrait of the artists daughter by Alexandra Gould

Like sedimentary rocks, the laundry pile supporting the young girls head is comprised of different layers. There are soft toys and treasures depicted with seaside collections and books. Together these form the foundation of the girl and support her in this portrait.

Lying across the fabric landscape, her only visible hand loosely holds her teddy close. Comfortable and calm the girls looks impassively out of the painting unaware of the viewers interpretation and the artists thoughts.

Acrylic on Canvas
45 x 56cm
Signed front left
In a private collection

Long-listed for Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition, London.
